What we did for Weld County
Sampson PR engaged with the county commissioners and economic development entity to build a narrative for Weld County by developing content for media pitches, byline columns, website pages to tell a broader story of the county’s positive economic impact and environmental responsible policies.
We launched Weld County’s environmentally responsible economic growth initiative – Powering Colorado – promoting the impacts the region has through the revenue it provides, food it produces, education it teaches, environment it offers and its alternative energy resources.
From a well-funded public-school system and median household income of $62,820 to new innovations in food production and alternative energy -- wind and water -- resources, Weld is preserving Colorado’s way of life. One of the fastest growing counties in the nation, Weld County is headquarters to some of the world’s most-recognizable brands that are not only leading Colorado, but the nation in a healthier and more sustainable future.
The region is home to dozens of global brands including JM Smuckers, Vestas Wind Energy, Rice’s Honey, Leprino Foods, and more. Utilizing Weld’s economic story through industry stories, allowed us to tell the greater narrative of Weld County’s imprint through its energy resources that provide revenue to school districts, special fire districts and other public goods statewide.
We increased positive earned (PR) media (newspaper, television, digital media and online media) placements for Weld County showing its value to elected officials and community influencers.
Our proactive crisis communications’ efforts secured media placements in several targeted media outlets during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, continually monitoring news stories presented dozens of opportunities to brand the county and its impact on Colorado.
What we did for the Northern Colorado Legislative Alliance
Sampson PR worked hand in hand with legislative leaders and the business community to build awareness about the issue impacting the Northern Front Range communities. The mission of the NCLA is to build a collaborative effort that empowers its members — state chambers of commerce — that presents a united voice on policy and issues impacting business’ ability to succeed.
We set up editorial board meetings and one-on-one interviews with media outlets to share the efforts of the group. This included work on transportation funding legislation — as part of NCLA’s Fix Colorado Roads initiative. Our efforts consisted of developing talking points and overall messaging for these media opportunities. Hosting online media Q & A sessions with chamber presidents and brief them on the latest developments. We secured editorial meetings with all of the major media in each chamber’s region, as well as, placing byline op-eds in those same publications.
