Amy Jewett Sampson, MPA

President, Sampson PR Media

Amy’s unique background in politics and communications gives Sampson PR a coveted position in the public relations industry. The firm’s strategic relationships with leaders in government, the business community and premier media outlets provide an avenue to build positive promotional opportunities for Sampson PR clients.

As a gubernatorial spokesperson and senior policy adviser to the 40th Governor of Colorado, Amy worked with key leaders and diplomats in Colorado and Washington, D.C. — collaborating with the offices of former Secretary of State Colin Powell, the United States President’s Office of Faith-Based Initiatives, President Jimmy Carter’s Habitat for Humanity, Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse, U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Homeland Security, Chinese Premier Zhu Rhongji, British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Mexican President Vicente Fox and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to name a few.

Crisis management was a key responsibility while serving in her appointed gubernatorial role. Amy served as a point of contact for media inquiries for the state. She managed the media coverage during the aftermath of the Columbine High School tragedy. Amy served as spokesperson during other crises including the Jon Bonet Ramsey grand jury investigation, terrorist attacks of 9-11, and Colorado’s Hayman fire that scorched thousands of National Forest acreage and displaced hundreds of local residents.

Sampson PR works with a broad list of entities from economic development councils and chambers of commerce — promoting trade missions by elected officials and public policy — to branding and media campaigns for the aerospace, healthcare, education, retail, conservation and energy industries.

“Amy’s professionalism and expertise in public relations – specifically media relations, public affairs, community relations, and crisis management – were extremely useful in her role in the Governor’s Office. There were many positive media opportunities where Amy provided her expertise -- often featured on the front-page of the newspaper or made their way onto the national 24 hour television news shows.”

— Governor Bill Owens, 40th Governor of Colorado
